Every four years the top soccer teams in the world compete for the World Cup. The 2019 edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup is being held in France where the host French team is also one of the favorites to win. Other powerhouses favored to advance deep into the tournament include the United States, Germany, England and the Netherlands. And you can never count out any of the remaining contenders like Sweden, Norway, Italy and Japan who have young but talented teams. This year’s field is extremely strong with parody across the board (and experimental VAR or video assistant refereeing) really making it anyone’s tournament going forward. So who are the favorites left in the round of 16 and their chances to win it all?

Women’s World Cup Futures

The US and France boast the strongest teams according to oddsmakers and the Westgate. However, they are on a collision course and will meet in the round of 8 where that winner will then become the clear favorite. On the other side of the bracket a showdown between Germany and the Netherlands looms large.

World Cup Predictions

While France has a strong team and an extra day of rest in preparation for their huge match with the US, the pressure of being the host team may be just too much to overcome. Meanwhile, the Germans have looked very strong and have not given up a goal yet. So after watching the current form of play, we’re most likely to see the United States vs. Germany in the finale. And in the end, the US prevails for the title with too much firepower and offense off the front foots of Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.

Final Women’s World Cup 2019 Prediction:

United States 2 – Germany 1
